Intimacy Coordination & Choreography

My job as an intimacy coordinator and choreographer for theatre and film is to make your job easier. I aim to create collaborative, consent-based spaces where actors, directors, and crew members alike can feel confident and supported in their process so that everyone can do their best work. I approach every project with intentions to infuse the process of staging intimacy with joy, collaboration, and effective, beautiful storytelling.

Intimacy for the Screen

As an intimacy coordinator for film and television, I bring tools to facilitate a consent-based process from pre to post-production. I can support your film with writing thorough intimacy riders, communicating on-set expectations and SAG-AFTRA safety standards, ensuring the proper use of modesty garments and barriers, and creating compelling, culturally competent choreography that will best serve cinematic storytelling while upholding and advocating for the needs of the actors.

Intimacy for the Stage

As an intimacy director for theatre, my role is to establish an on-going culture of consent in rehearsal and performance spaces by giving actors tools to check in about their boundaries and step out of the work, implementing clear systems of documentation, and creating choreography that is repeatable but also adaptable should circumstances change throughout a longer process (especially in a world affected by COVID-19).

“Bianca is a joy to collaborate with. Her significant raw brainpower pairs with a deep creativity…In so many realms, I credit Bianca with the production’s success. She equipped our actors with tools and structures to take care of themselves in rehearsal. She staged the violence and intimacy in a professional, seamless way. She always advocated for actor well-being. And most importantly, she made the process joyful!”

“Bianca is a dream Intimacy Choreographer—she is able to seamlessly advocate for the needs of the cast while supporting the Director the entire time. She can understand the vision of a project quickly, and uphold that point of view in every way as she approaches her work with actors. She empowers the performers to bring their best selves to the work and gives the creative team ease in knowing the project will get to where it needs to be.”
